EZ Mil Returns to His Roots with Powerful Tagalog Single “Leon (Ka)”

The genre-bending rap artist celebrates his Filipino identity in a bold, lyrical new track that marks the start of an ambitious musical chapter.

Filipino-born rap force EZ MIL steps back into the spotlight with his brand new single, “Leon (Ka).” Written and performed entirely in Tagalog, the powerful new track serves as both a fearless display of his lyrical prowess and a heartfelt tribute to his Filipino roots – a love letter to the Philippines that celebrates the language, culture, and resilience that have shaped his artistry. The multi-hyphenate born Ezekiel Miller first broke out with “Panalo (Trap Cariñosa)” when he brought the bilingual track to a live performance on the Wish USA Bus (an extension of the popular Philippines-based radio station Wish 107.5 FM). The video went viral, amassing more than 88 million views on YouTube and announcing the arrival of a thrilling new talent. By that point, EZ MIL had already demonstrated remarkable versatility across hip-hop, R&B, EDM, indie-pop, alternative, heavy rock, and more—while consistently carrying his Filipino identity into music that resonates with audiences around the globe.

EZ MIL stirred up rumors of his return earlier this year when he dropped the short but staggeringly impressive Lunar New Year Freestyle—a perfect meld of the lithe, expressive vocals and sharp, dexterous bars that put him on the map in the first place. Before that, he contributed to Eminem’s blockbuster No. 1 album The Death of Slim Shady, lacing “Head Honcho” with ferocious verses in both English and Tagalog.

EZ MIL’S last project, 2023’s DU4LI7Y: REDUX, marked the end of a chapter—his dedicated climb from an ambitiously raised kid—and the beginning of a new one: his arrival on the world stage. That set contained his first team-up with Eminem, the certified showcase of rap acrobatics “Realest,” which debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s Rap Digital Song Sales and R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales charts. He followed with the single “Podium,” an equally confident and contemplative piece about having a platform as an artist.

With “Leon (Ka),” EZ MIL continues to embrace the duality that has defined his career, seamlessly blending global ambition with deep cultural pride. The song not only reconnects him with the language and perspective that first captivated fans around the world, but also marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, setting the stage for more new music to come.
