Tiera Kennedy drops “Somebody Like You” after a headline Nashville show and BET Award nomination.
Rising R&B, country, and gospel crossover artist Tiera Kennedy continues her upward trajectory with the release of “Somebody Like You,” a heartfelt new single that arrives fresh off her headline show at Nashville’s Basement East.
Written by Kennedy alongside Cameron Bedell and Jared Scott, “Somebody Like You” was born from a personal realization about the people in our lives who keep us grounded during turbulent times.
“We all need somebody—someone who sees you, holds space for you, and helps you get through the hard stuff. Somebody who keeps the light on for you when you’re finding your way back home,” says Tiera. 
The single is accompanied by a music video directed by Kamren Kennedy, which finds Tiera immersed in the raw emotion of the track, set against the backdrop of a serene Tennessee field.
“Somebody Like You” follows a banner year for Tiera. She was recently nominated for her first-ever BET Award in the BET Her category for her collaboration on “Blackbiird” with Beyoncé, Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, and Reyna Roberts.
She also released a new episode of her Apple Music Radio show, The Tiera Show, featuring Ms. Tina Knowles, #1 New York Times best-selling author of MATRIARCH, for a conversation on motherhood, legacy, and strength.
Earlier this year, she released her acclaimed cover of Beyoncé’s “1+1” across all streaming platforms, joined The War & Treaty on tour, debuted at Stagecoach, and is set to perform at CMA Fest and Vineyard Jam this June.
With a new season of The Tiera Show and more music on the way, Tiera Kennedy is just getting started.
