Norwegian Pop Star Sigrid Emerges with Breezy, Nostalgic New Single “Jellyfish”

Sigrid unveils her new track “Jellyfish,” showcasing her more carefree side and love for indie roots.

Sigrid returns with “Jellyfish,” a single that reveals a brighter, more relaxed dimension of her artistry. Known for turning emotional honesty into pop powerhouses, the Norwegian singer now channels lighthearted energy in this latest release.

The song was created with longtime collaborator Askjell Solstrand, the producer behind “Dynamite.” Their decade-long partnership once again bears fruit, this time through a track that blends vintage indie sounds with modern pop clarity.

Sigrid explains, “It’s my slightly more free-spirited and joyous side. I wanted it to feel easy — like a Scandinavian summer. Flirting can feel so chaotic and stupid, but that’s the best part of it.”

The creative process behind “Jellyfish” was born out of a reset — Sigrid walked away from the high-pressure “content culture” to rediscover music for its own joy. Through travels and time away from the industry machine, she reconnected with instinctual songwriting. “I love using my voice as a vessel to pour my heart out,” she says. “But on this song, I wanted it to sound carefree, joyful and playful — maybe a bit nonchalant.”

Visually, the music video captures quirky scenes inspired by early 2000s influences, referencing the music Sigrid once stored on her iPod.

Following hits like “Strangers” and “Sucker Punch,” “Jellyfish” introduces a looser, yet still melodic Sigrid — proof that growth sometimes arrives with a laugh and a dance.
