Shyfrin Alliance, the boundary-pushing project from Eduard Shyfrin, returns with ‘In the Shadow of Time’, an immersive second album that dives deep into the concept of time through seven blues-rock compositions.
The follow-up to their 2024 debut ‘Upside Down Blues’ – which amassed over 500,000 Spotify streams and earned international radio rotation – this record continues the group’s creative evolution. It blends intricate musicianship with Shyfrin’s philosophical perspective, honed through his background in science, business, and writing.
Each track on ‘In the Shadow of Time’ explores a unique element of time, forming a narrative that flows between themes of cosmic mystery, introspection, and existential wonder. The songs were recorded in Paris with top-tier French rock musicians, using iconic studios like Barillet, Ferber, and Grand Armee to capture their rich sound.
The lead single ‘Buddha Blues’ offers a glimpse into the record’s tone – a blues-rock anthem driven by infectious instrumentation and inspired by the idea of time as a healer. Other tracks take listeners into more abstract territory, including the title track, which casts time as an unknowable figure in a soundscape of powerful bass and rhythmic tension.

“I don’t think there exists an album dedicated purely to the topic of time,” Eduard reflects. “You will not find another album like this. My principle is I may always be afraid to enter new areas, but I will always enter them. Even if it means daring to hit the Wall of Time.”
This new album also reflects Eduard’s ongoing research into Kabbalah and information theory, building on the ideas from his bestselling book From Infinity to Man.
‘In the Shadow of Time’ invites audiences on a mind-expanding listening experience that merges the artistic and the intellectual into one compelling offering.
