Shaya Zamora returns with “Numb,” a bold solo effort exploring love’s quiet intensity and emotional barriers.
Shaya Zamora returns with “Numb,” his first solo single of 2024, via Atlantic Records. Known for his reflective lyricism and emotive acoustic arrangements, Zamora once again channels internal struggle into compelling artistry.
Produced by Maxwell “Mxwell” Harlor and Croixx, “Numb” pairs minimalist, haunting textures with intimate vocal delivery. The single is already resonating with fans, gaining traction across social media for its stark honesty and relatable themes.
“There’s something terrifying about giving the real you to someone,” Zamora explains. “Some run from love, too afraid to let it in, cause we don’t want to feel. Others stand in its presence – numb.”
Zamora has continued to gain recognition since his standout collaborations earlier this year on colby!’s “Monster” and the trio effort “Lament” with Tommee Profitt and Sam Tinnesz. Yet “Numb” brings the focus back to the solitary introspection that has defined his sound since the start.
His January debut EP Eulogize has brought in nearly 50 million global streams, anchored by the viral single “Cigarette.” Raised in rural Washington, Zamora’s music stems from a grounded, narrative-driven approach, often built around emotionally complex themes wrapped in accessible melodies.
With “Numb,” he dives into the emotional paralysis that can follow intimacy, reminding listeners that even in stillness, there’s something to be felt.
