Sebastian Schub drops “Scared of Screaming” via Island EMI/Capitol Records ahead of debut EP.

German-born, London-based artist Sebastian Schub has unveiled his stunning new single “Scared of Screaming,” out now via Island EMI / Capitol Records. The beautifully melancholic track, produced by Dann Hume in Wales, arrives alongside the announcement of his highly anticipated debut EP Sing Like Madonna, set for release on June 6th.

A soul-baring composition with rich vocal delivery, “Scared of Screaming” is a deeply personal offering. “I think Scared of Screaming is more dear to me than any song on this EP,” shares Schub. “The lyrics were slowly gathering on a note on my phone… until I met the wonderful Dann Hume and Theo Hutchcraft. Dann got out his sweet and sultry baritone guitar and two hours later the song was done.”

Schub’s rise is anything but conventional. From opera training in Hamburg and acting aspirations in London to busking on the South Bank, his artistic path has been shaped by relentless hard work. Early gigs at Camden’s Spiritual Bar and late-night original sets on city pavements sharpened his voice and songwriting—one rooted in truth, realism, and emotional grit.

This summer, Sebastian will headline shows in New York and Los Angeles, and join Noah Kahan at BST Hyde Park in London on July 4th.

With contributions from Steve Fitzmaurice, Rob Kirwan, and Dann Hume, Schub’s debut EP reflects years of lived experience and creative perseverance. “Scared of Screaming” is just the beginning of what’s shaping up to be one of 2025’s most exciting debut releases.
