Royal & the Serpent releases “Carry Me Home,” a cinematic alt-pop single teasing her debut album.
RIAA Gold-certified singer-songwriter Royal & the Serpent fuels her forward momentum with the release of “Carry Me Home”, available now via Atlantic Records. The alt-pop outlier continues to forge her unique lane with this emotionally charged track, setting the tone for her highly anticipated debut album, expected later this year.
“Carry Me Home” opens with her trademark ethereal vocals drenched in reverb, weaving a cinematic prayer: “Father, save me from the monsters, hold me like a daughter, carry me, carry me home.” The song swells with a fuzzy synth bass and glitchy percussion, eventually exploding into a hypnotic, chantable chorus that reflects her knack for sonic surprise.
The track follows the success of “Death Do Us Part”, which garnered over a million streams and early acclaim from Billboard, mxdwn, and others. Billboard hailed it on “Queer Jams of the Week,” writing, “Royal & the Serpent is done toying with her sound — she’s found it, and she’s not letting it go.”
She also contributed “Wasteland” to the Arcane League of Legends: Season 2 soundtrack, a breakout moment that earned 80M+ streams and wide acclaim following her Game Awards performance with Twenty One Pilots and d4vd.
With nearly 1 billion streams and past tours alongside Fall Out Boy, Avril Lavigne, and Demi Lovato, Royal & the Serpent is set to take over the 2025 Vans Warped Tour this summer—and “Carry Me Home” is just the beginning.
