Canadian pop artist Olivia Lunny steps into the spotlight with her magnetic new single “Marilyn,” lifted from her forthcoming album Velvet & Denim, due this summer. A tribute to the elegance and allure of Marilyn Monroe, the track blends old Hollywood glamour with a modern pop edge, capturing the dizzying thrill of young love, parties, and the chaos of fame.
“Marilyn” follows recent fan-favorite singles “Heaven” and “City of Angles,” giving a taste of the dynamic direction Lunny is heading with Velvet & Denim. Driven by infectious hooks and a self-assured attitude, the track celebrates beauty, confidence, and the power of stepping fully into yourself.
“‘Marilyn’ is an anthem for confidence,” says Lunny. “It’s about stepping into your power, feeling yourself and embracing your beauty unapologetically! Known for her breakout EP Heartbreak on Repeat, which surpassed 7 million streams, Lunny has continued to evolve her sound, blending emotional storytelling with unapologetic pop energy. In 2023, she toured with Ellie Goulding and Loreen, and this year she makes her US festival debut at The Governors Ball 2025. She’ll also perform at LIDO Festival in London alongside London Grammar and Celeste, and recently announced support dates with Justin Timberlake in Dublin and Belfast.
