Novulent Begins VOL.3 Era with Haunting New Single “new low”

Novulent shares lead single “new low,” a gripping look into toxic love and emotional collapse, out now via Capitol Records.

Rising alternative artist Novulent offers the first glimpse into their next album, VOL.3, with the release of “new low,” out now via Capitol Records. The 20-year-old Texas-based musician continues to carve out their lane in the genre-bending space between alt rock and emotional storytelling.

Describing the track, Novulent explains: “The song talks about being so desperate to be with someone that you’ve hit a new low mentally to stay with them. Peeling back their personality more and more, you see how awful they are but, in desperation and wishful thinking, you still stay with them, accepting what they are – a ‘beautiful poison.’”

VOL.3 follows the emotional arcs that love often takes, with Novulent describing the full project as “the highs and lows, the anger, the happiness, the good, the ugly and more.” Inspired by early 2000s coming-of-age films like Thirteen and All About Lily Chou-Chou, the album will chronicle the chaos of romance in cinematic fashion.

This next chapter follows VOL.1, which explored the aftermath of back-to-back breakups and featured the viral hit “scars” (111M+ streams), and VOL.2, which centered on self-reflection and personal growth, spawning the fan favorite “soul ties.”

Having just wrapped their debut headline tour with a buzzworthy show at NYC’s Mercury Lounge, Novulent is proving their appeal runs deep. With each song, they inch closer to redefining alternative pop for a new generation—and “new low” is only the beginning.
