Nat & Alex Wolff drop “If You Never Left Me,” a wistful, breakup-inspired indie rock track full of heart.
Indie rock duo Nat & Alex Wolff have officially kicked off 2025 with the release of their latest single, “If You Never Left Me,” out now via Coup D’Etat Recordings and Broke Records. Known for their multi-hyphenate talents and ever-evolving sound, the brothers deliver a track that blends modern indie rock with nostalgic, 90s-style breakup balladry.
“If You Never Left Me” is rich in emotion and self-awareness, transporting listeners to the aftermath of first heartbreak. The track pulls from both old-school charm and contemporary edge, placing it somewhere between a bedroom jam and a cinematic rom-com finale.

“We wrote ‘If You Never Left Me’ in the house of the person it was about,” Nat & Alex reveal. “The original was sad and beautiful—but Alex had a burst of clarity on a flight back from Europe five years later and rewrote the lyrics. He didn’t want it to feel self-pitying anymore—he wanted it to be ironic, honest. That rewrite was everything. Suddenly the song had personality—yours, mine, both.”
The release follows last month’s premiere of “Soft Kissing Hour” and its Gia Coppola-directed video, previewed at a private event hosted by the band.
After a landmark 2024—which included supporting Billie Eilish on her U.S. tour and releasing fan-favorite tracks like “Back Up Plan”—Nat & Alex Wolff are entering 2025 with creative momentum and emotional depth. Expect more genre-crossing releases from the duo in the months ahead.
