Myke Towers showcases identity and innovation on ‘Island Boyz’, blending reggaetón, dembow, and more.
With the release of Island Boyz, Myke Towers introduces his most dynamic and personal project to date. The 23-track album reflects a fearless musical evolution that draws from the richness of Caribbean culture while tapping into global urban soundscapes.
Island Boyz is not merely a genre mix—it’s a cultural declaration. Anchored in Puerto Rican roots but infused with dancehall, dembow, Latin R&B, and afrobeats, the album creates a new sonic language reflective of Towers’ artistic growth.
The opening track, “La Despedida” with DFZM, introduces the album’s emotional tone. “Soleao,” a collaboration with Quevedo, stands out as a chart-topping favorite, already recognized as a major summer contender in both the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
“Myke’s work here is unified and bold,” particularly evident on tracks like “No Hay Break” with Omah Lay and “No Quiere Flores” with Gabito Ballesteros. Meanwhile, “Surferita” adds Caribbean texture through ska and Mexican tuba rhythms, proving Tower’s sonic curiosity has no borders.
The standout single “Tengo Celos” arrives alongside a vibrant music video directed by Daniel Eguren and produced by Vampire Films. As Towers puts it: “I wanted it to sound like where I’m from, but also like what I’m living right now. Island Boyz is the realest thing I’ve done to date.”
