Singer-songwriter Matt Maeson shares “Everlasting,” reflecting on fatherhood, marriage, and mental health.
Matt Maeson is ushering in a vulnerable new era with his latest single, “Everlasting.” Released via Atlantic Records, the track marks his first release since his 2024 live album and solo tour That’s My Cue: A Solo Experience. The song reflects the significant life transitions he’s experienced over the past year—including marriage, relocation, and becoming a father.
In “Everlasting,” Maeson faces internal doubt, emotional exhaustion, and the complexity of trying to be everything at once. “I wrote Everlasting from a very defeated place… Thoughts that I think many people in my same position have had but I don’t hear spoken about very often,” he explains. The song’s honesty makes it one of his most relatable yet.
The chorus—“Grit your teeth and make us proud. Fake it when you don’t know how”—serves as a mantra, encapsulating the tension between internal struggle and the need to keep moving forward. A music video directed by Matthew Daniel Siskin accompanies the release.
Looking ahead, Maeson has announced a 42-show tour that will reunite him with his full band. The tour kicks off in North America this September before heading to Europe and the UK in early 2026.
“Everlasting” is not just another single—it’s a reflection of a chapter marked by growth, vulnerability, and the resilience needed to face it all.
