Marlhy Unveils Honest and Reflective Debut Album ‘the thoughts that keep me up at night’

Marlhy Marlhy

Marlhy’s debut album speaks to the uncertainty of growing up, offering solace through alt-pop and rock-fueled introspection.

Marlhy emerges as a compelling new voice in alternative music with her debut album the thoughts that keep me up at night. The project dives deep into the emotional turbulence of early adulthood, offering an intimate soundtrack to the often confusing journey of stepping into independence.

Built on a soundscape that blends eclectic alt-rock with dreamy alt-pop, the album’s lyrics explore topics like shifting friendships, career anxiety, and personal growth. The track “young and naïve” reminisces on carefree past days, while “you.” focuses on the letting go of toxic relationships. Deeper into the record, the darker-toned “: black” delves into emotional healing and the shadow side of love.

“Entering my 20s was a huge wake-up call,” Marlhy says. “For the first time in my life, I didn’t have all the answers… Writing this album gave me clarity.”

Marlhy collaborated with a talented group of creatives throughout the album’s development, including producers Michael Kamerman, Aaron Blackmar, and Christian Fiore. The project also includes contributions from Jordyn Kane, Olivia Cargile, Kella Armitage, Fran Hall, and Cameron Walker.

“When I was younger, I thought I had my path figured out,” Marlhy shares. “But once I hit my 20s… I had to let go of the idea of controlling everything.”

With its unfiltered lyrical vulnerability and sonic richness, the thoughts that keep me up at night positions Marlhy as an emerging artist to watch—one who isn’t afraid to speak to the uncertainty that defines a generation.
