Mariah The Scientist returns with her second single of the year, “Is It A Crime,” this time collaborating with acclaimed artist Kali Uchis. The track offers a taste of what’s to come on her upcoming fourth studio album, HEARTS SOLD SEPARATELY, arriving August 22.
Blending emotive lyricism with polished production from Matt1k and Nineteen85, the song creates a soulful, introspective atmosphere. The repeated line, “Is it a crime to fall in love a couple times, tell me?”, resonates as a statement of unapologetic romanticism.

Building on the momentum of “Burning Blue,” one of the standout R&B hits of 2025, Mariah is showing no signs of slowing down. That track not only climbed the charts, but also led to her being welcomed into the 2025 New Membership Class of The Recording Academy.
This August, Mariah is slated to appear at Lollapalooza and host an intimate underplay at The Vic Theatre. She will also headline as the keynote speaker at ENVSN Festival in New York, bringing her voice and vision to center stage.
