Mariah Carey and Vevo celebrate 30 years of “All I Want For Christmas Is You” with a behind-the-scenes Footnotes episode.

Mariah Carey and Vevo have teamed up for a special episode of Footnotes to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic holiday classic “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” The episode takes fans behind the scenes of the “Make My Wish Come True Edition” video, offering a unique look at the creative process behind one of the most beloved Christmas songs of all time.

Directed by Joseph Kahn, the video is a dazzling homage to the glamour of Hollywood’s golden age. Inspired by the legendary Busby Berkeley, Kahn crafted a music video filled with elaborate choreography and cinematic flair. Mariah Carey shared her experience on set, admitting that working with the dancers was challenging, as dancing isn’t her strong suit. The intricate Busby Berkeley-inspired sequence, which features dancers performing on platforms behind Carey, required hours of filming from multiple angles to achieve its stunning visual effect.

The video also includes special cameos, such as Mykal-Michelle Harris, who plays a young version of Mariah. Speaking about Harris, Carey said, “She represents little me and all the kids who love Christmas!” Mariah’s twins, Monroe and Moroccan, add festive energy with their appearances, and her pup, Cha Cha, continues the tradition of featuring her beloved pets in her videos. Additionally, director Joseph Kahn’s daughter, Josie, appears as an angelic girl popping out of a present.
