Luke Combs unveils “Back In The Saddle” with NASCAR stars in new video; his historic year continues.
Country megastar Luke Combs kicks off another exciting chapter in his monumental career with the release of his new single “Back In The Saddle,” alongside a nostalgic music video directed by Tyler Adams. The clip features none other than racing legends Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Richard Petty—adding a layer of Americana flair to the project.
“So much work goes into making these songs, so much time we spend making them, from the studio writing them to the videos,” says Combs. “I got to make the video with Dale Jr. and Richard Petty, which is a total dream come true. My grandpa would be rolling over in his grave in a good way if he knew that I got to hang out with Richard Petty and Dale Jr.”
This release—penned with trusted collaborators Dan Isbell and Jonathan Singleton—adds fuel to an already remarkable year. Combs is deep into a headline festival run, having performed historic sets at Bonnaroo and JazzFest. Later this year, he will also become the first country artist to headline Lollapalooza.
Combs’ impact is undeniable. His 2024 album Fathers & Sons garnered praise for its emotionally resonant themes, while his GRAMMY-nominated track “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” recently hit No. 1 on country radio. With 155.5 million RIAA-certified units and multiple Diamond singles, Combs stands as the second most certified country artist in history.
From performing a GRAMMY duet with Tracy Chapman to launching Category 10 in Nashville and raising over $24 million for hurricane relief, Luke Combs shows no signs of slowing down. “Back In The Saddle” continues that trajectory—anchored in tradition, delivered with heart.
