Kalsey Kulyk returns with “Western Wind” and a heartfelt Judds cover, out via Universal Canada.

Country singer-songwriter Kalsey Kulyk introduces a reflective new single, “Western Wind,” released today through Universal Music Canada. Arriving as part of a two-pack, the release also includes a stirring cover of The Judds’ iconic “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days),” further showcasing Kulyk’s deep roots in classic country influences.

“Western Wind,” which Kulyk began writing on her own before revisiting it with collaborators Patricia Conroy and Dave Thomson in Nashville, speaks to the emotional caution that accompanies vulnerability. “Western Wind was a song that I started myself and had to walk away from because I wanted to give it my all,” she explains. “So a month later I was in Nashville in the writers room… and I threw this song out there and they loved it.”

The B-side offers a heartfelt rendition of “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days),” a track close to Kulyk’s heart. “‘Grandpa’ was a song I used to sing all the time as a little girl,” she shares. “Every time I hear this song or it pops in my head it feels like a warm blanket reminding me of my childhood.”

The new release follows her previous tributes to country staples like “Cowboy Take Me Away” by The Chicks and “I May Hate Myself In The Morning” by Lee Ann Womack.

This year, Kulyk is slated to open for Wynonna Judd at the Energetic County Fair in Fort St. John. The Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan native continues to make her mark in the Canadian country scene with bright vocals, personal lyrics, and authentic storytelling.
