Jake & Shelby channel nervous romance into infectious single “You Don’t Know,” now streaming.

In their latest release, pop pair Jake & Shelby lean into the rush of young love with “You Don’t Know,” a single brimming with emotion, pop production, and the charm that has rapidly fueled their ascent. The track arrives as a breezy ode to the early stages of attraction—fun, flirty, and filled with nervous energy.

“‘You Don’t Know’ is about something we’ve all had… A crush,” Jake & Shelby share. “When we were writing this song we were thinking about how we feel so awkward at times around our crush and how it can be so consuming. It feels like all you can do is think about that person. But the funny part is that they don’t even know.”

Stepping into more synthesized production territory, Jake & Shelby crafted this song by starting with percussion and synths before layering in their acoustic stylings. “It was really exciting and fun to make something more pop-leaning!” they note.

The release builds on momentum from “Loophole,” an emotionally candid song that explored the complexities of trusting again after heartbreak. With each release, Jake & Shelby continue to explore deeper storytelling while maintaining accessibility through compelling hooks.

Their rise has been bolstered by viral content and organic fan growth, with a fanbase that now includes big names like Gracie Abrams and Michael Bublé, the latter even inviting the duo backstage for a duet before a performance at Bridgestone Arena. Despite early success, they’ve stayed grounded and focused on evolving their sound.
