India Shawn drops “Kill Switch” on VANTA Music/Disney Music Group—a bold, emotional new release.
Acclaimed singer-songwriter India Shawn makes a powerful return with her striking new single and music video “Kill Switch”, released via VANTA Music/Disney Music Group. Blending her signature soulful vocals with emotionally charged storytelling, “Kill Switch” explores the delicate boundary between friendship and romance—and the moment one chooses self-preservation over chaos.
“‘Kill Switch’ is an unexpected shift, as I move away from the familiar shadows of unreturned love and reclaim the power to decide my own fate,” India shares. “It’s a song about recognizing the potential danger of crossing the line from friends to lovers, and trying to safeguard what’s real before it becomes too messy; ‘this could turn from a good thing to hate, keep it shallow for our own sake.’”
The track was co-written by India Shawn, Varren Wade, D’Mile, Livvy Bennett, and Michael Benjamin Hunter, with production from D’Mile, Bennett, and Hunter—delivering a sound that’s lush, haunting, and deeply textured.
The accompanying music video, directed by Anne-Sophie Bine, stars India alongside actor/musician Luke James. Set in a surreal dreamscape, the visual follows India as she navigates shifting timelines and fragmented realities—caught in a loop of past lives and fading connections. As scenes unravel, the video mirrors the emotional themes of the track: when holding on becomes too heavy, the only choice is to let go.
Released through VANTA Music, the label founded by D’Mile, John Kercy, and Natalie Prospere, “Kill Switch” is another bold step forward in India Shawn’s evolving journey as a genre-defying artist.
