Idia Aisien stars in Dear Father alongside RMD and Kunle Remi, bringing African voices to the UK theatre stage.
Rising global star Idia Aisien is making her UK stage debut in Dear Father, a poignant new production running June 12–14, 2025, at Fireworks Factory, Woolwich Works. The actress joins a cast of heavyweights including Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Kunle Remi, and Tobi Bakre.
With over 1.3 million followers on Instagram and a media presence that spans continents, Aisien’s influence has long reached beyond the screen. Her early work in modeling and television, from hosting Style 101 on Spice TV to campaigns with Nivea and Schweppes, laid the groundwork for her transition into film.
Her acting career soared after her acclaimed portrayal in Nneka the Pretty Serpent, where she received critical praise for her compelling lead performance. That role marked her evolution from media personality to respected actress.
Now, Dear Father marks a new chapter. The play delves into complex family dynamics, grief, and the often-overlooked issue of femicide. “This role came at a time when I was personally reflecting on the importance of the relationships that shape us—especially those with our parents,” said Aisien.
The production highlights a vital conversation about gender-based violence while celebrating the presence of African narratives in Western theatre. Idia Aisien’s participation is not only a personal artistic leap—it’s a broader reflection of the global reach of Nollywood talent.
