Haiden Henderson’s new ‘tension’ EP captures emotional fallout and kicks off his debut tour.
Haiden Henderson is making waves once again with the release of his latest EP tension, a collection of tracks that delve into emotional complexity and personal growth. Released via LAVA/Republic Records, the EP represents the next stage of evolution for the emerging pop talent.
Each of the eight songs explores a different layer of post-romantic entanglement. “A friendship-turned-romantic stitches all of these songs together,” Haiden explains. “It complicated my life. tension follows the arc of this situation becoming complicated and falling out. Since the relationship ended without closure, the songs are my way of getting my side of the story out. More than anything I’ve made in the past, there’s a journey within this project for anyone open to it.”
Leading up to the EP, Haiden previewed tracks like “lovesucker,” “lips,” and “sweat,” setting the emotional tone early on. The single “tension” builds on that foundation with a vulnerable narrative and hypnotic production that channels raw emotion into art.
With each release since his 2021 debut, Haiden has built a growing audience, affectionately known as “Haider Nation.” Previous projects like Good Grief, Choke on My Heart, and lover boy solidified his place among the most exciting new voices in alt-pop.
Following his recent sold-out support tour with Emei, Haiden is gearing up for his first headline tour — The Tension Tour — which includes a major London stop at The Garage this September. The North American dates begin August 8 in San Diego and conclude in Los Angeles on August 28.
