Grace Potter’s long-shelved album “Medicine” arrives, produced by music icon T Bone Burnett.
In a release that bridges past and present, Grace Potter unveils Medicine — a long-awaited album recorded in 2008 with legendary producer T Bone Burnett. After years on the shelf, the record is now officially available via Hollywood Records.
Originally captured at The Village Studios, the album departs from the upbeat, rootsy tones of Potter’s early discography. Here, she leans into haunting, soul-driven compositions. “This is an album that truly belongs in its own space, and I’m so happy to finally give it the platform I know it deserves,” Potter states.
The sessions featured a stellar cast of collaborators: Jim Keltner on drums, bassist Dennis Crouch, guitarist Marc Ribot, and Keefus Ciancia on keys. Under Burnett’s direction, the result is both cinematic and emotionally raw.
Potter’s journey to this moment includes recent features in The New York Times, Garden & Gun, and Southern Living’s podcast Biscuits & Jam. She’s also set to perform on Live! With Kelly and Mark on June 4.
More than a lost gem, Medicine offers a newly unearthed chapter of Potter’s evolution — grounded in artistry, timeless sound, and personal truth.
