The Favors, a new duo from FINNEAS and Ashe, drop debut single ahead of album “The Dream” this fall.
FINNEAS and Ashe, both acclaimed in their solo careers, are now launching The Favors, a collaborative project rooted in friendship and past creative chemistry.
Their debut single “The Little Mess You Made” revives the magic they captured on earlier collaborations, while forging a new sonic identity that draws from the Laurel Canyon sound of the 1970s. The duo’s full-length debut album, The Dream, is set for release on September 19 through Darkroom Records.
With “The Little Mess You Made,” listeners are treated to live-sounding vocals, raw acoustic instrumentation, and songwriting that blends old-school warmth with modern emotional storytelling. The official video, directed by Scott Cudmore, underscores the vintage soul of the song.
“This is the way every artist dreams of making an album,” Ashe shares. “People don’t sing together anymore when they’re recording, but it was so romantic and fun.” FINNEAS adds, “It’s a true ‘long-play album’ in its real intended meaning. Hopefully, you can have friends over, cook a meal, and play this on vinyl front-to-back.” Ashe wraps: “I want you to feel simultaneously warm, fuzzy, and heartbroken at the same time.”
The Favors’ fresh identity signals a new creative direction for two voices that continue to shape the future of pop with a reverent nod to its past.
