Rising alt-pop voice EMMMA delivers introspection and energy on her new single “Burning Bridges.”
EMMMA continues to establish her voice in the alt-pop scene with “Burning Bridges,” a track that captures the complexity of emotional reckoning through textured synths and vulnerable storytelling.
The song introduces a darker tone than some of her previous work, opening with brooding arpeggios before surging into a chorus fueled by urgency and defiance. It reflects a journey inward—where running away provides momentary freedom but doesn’t resolve the root of personal conflict.
“I’ve definitely been convinced that everything going wrong in my life is my fault… But over the years, I’ve come to realise that it’s actually OK to burn a few bridges – it can be a way of healing,” EMMMA shares.
Written with Ben Wylen and Andrea Rosario, “Burning Bridges” builds on the emotional themes explored in her debut EP Secondary Character, but now looks at change as something more nuanced—where letting go becomes necessary rather than reactionary.
Her latest string of singles, including “Wednesday’s Child” and “Cut The Breaks,” showcase this new creative chapter. Rather than viewing change as rebellion, she now embraces it as a tool for clarity and personal truth.
A native of Westport, Connecticut, EMMMA is growing her presence in the UK with increasing acclaim. After supporting JC Stewart on tour, she continues to connect with audiences through emotionally authentic performances.
“Burning Bridges” proves EMMMA’s ability to balance pop accessibility with lyrical substance, offering another compelling preview of what’s to come in her upcoming EP.
