Diva Smith shares ‘Better in Heaven,’ a powerful new single exploring heartbreak, healing, and transformation.
Breakout singer-songwriter Diva Smith makes a striking debut with “Better in Heaven,” an emotionally charged track that blends raw lyricism with soaring melodies and hypnotic production. The song’s driving drumbeat builds in intensity, mirroring its themes of heartbreak, self-discovery, and growth.
Speaking about the song’s meaning, Diva shares:
“‘Better in Heaven’ reflects on the feelings of hopelessness and confusion that come along with a first heartbreak; the worry that the sinking feeling will never pass, and hoping to every god that you don’t even believe in that it will. It explores the trials and triumphs that come along with healing, and resolves itself in knowing that as time passes, feelings pass too.”

The single was co-written and produced by Stella Smyth, a close collaborator whom Diva met in a music business class at NYU. Their creative partnership began over Zoom during the pandemic, leading to a deep musical connection. Additional production was contributed by GRAMMY-nominated producer Marty MARO (TWICE, Anitta, Selena Gomez), adding a polished yet deeply personal touch.
With “Better in Heaven,” Diva introduces her unique “Therapy Pop” sound, offering listeners an introspective yet relatable musical journey. More surprises are in store for 2025—stay tuned.
