Rising artist DEJA DEAD is set to unveil their new single ‘SNAPSHOTS’, a track that serves as both a standalone release and a gateway into a multifaceted creative experience. Fans can expect the single to drop later this month, ahead of a special event on 23 March 2026 at Glasgow Film Theatre.
This immersive presentation will showcase behind-the-scenes recording footage, live storytelling, and the debut screening of a techno-horror short film crafted to accompany the album. The film draws directly from DEJA DEAD’s music, allowing viewers to experience the sounds within a narrative, neon-drenched visual world.
‘SNAPSHOTS’ was written during a time of intense personal change and wrestles with the process of healing through confronting the past. Lyrically layered, the track portrays fragmented memories and the process of reclaiming control. As DEJA DEAD explains, “To me, SNAPSHOTS is about looking back in order to move forward. It takes hitting rock bottom, going to that place that’s so dark, so lost… until a new image starts coming through— possibly a way out.”
The cinematic ambiance of the track is introduced immediately with the inclusion of a rare sound: Scotland’s last functioning cinema organ, recorded specifically for the song. This detail not only provides a unique texture but also subtly bridges the music to the film premiere’s visual storytelling.
DEJA DEAD, who wrote and performed the song, collaborated with producer RICO on this project. Together, they’ve created a track that not only stands alone musically but also acts as the entry point to an immersive event that invites listeners into the depths of memory, art, and transformation.
