Cassyette drops deluxe debut with new single “Phantom Limb” and launches goth queer night Degenerette.
Alt-rock disruptor Cassyette returns with the deluxe edition of her debut album, This World Still F***ing Sucks, out now via 23 Recordings. Following the critical acclaim of her UK Top 40 debut This World F***ing Sucks, this expanded 19-track edition introduces new sonic depths, including the emotionally charged single “Phantom Limb.”
With added tracks like her Lady Gaga-approved cover of “Disease,” a stripped version of “When She Told Me,” and an extended “Sex Metal”—inspired by her newly launched club night—the deluxe is a bold continuation of Cassyette’s boundary-breaking artistry.

Speaking on “Phantom Limb,” Cassyette shares: “Phantom limb syndrome is a chronic condition… Phantom limb is about what it’s like to leave someone toxic that never loved you back… I felt like I had to relearn my entire existence. This World Still F***ing Sucks is very much that chapter of my life. I am closing that chapter now. Life has changed and something new is bubbling.”
The record tackles themes from grief to nihilism with unapologetic honesty. NME praised it as “compelling pop-metal fusion,” while Kerrang! called it “an album to get you off your knees and roaring loud.” Produced with longtime collaborators Tylr Rydr, Olly Burden, and Olivia Sebastianelli, the album includes fan-favorites like “Friends In Low Places,” “Ipecac,” and “Why Am I Like This?”
To celebrate, Cassyette launched Degenerette, a new goth/queer club night, debuting at Brighton’s Club Revenge on April 19.
