After a four-year solo hiatus, Cam returns with “Alchemy,” a genre-fusing new single.
Cam is back with her first solo release in four years. Her new single “Alchemy,” available now, is a lush fusion of folk, country, and alternative pop that reflects on themes of existence, transformation, and personal roots.
With production by Tyler Johnson, who previously worked on tracks for Harry Styles and Miley Cyrus, “Alchemy” is a carefully crafted collaboration. Co-writers on the song include Johnson, Michael Uzowuru, and Anders Mouridsen.
Cam explains, “I wanted to write something where we just focused on melody, but it turned into a song about reflecting on what we’re made of, where we’re coming from and where we’re going.” 
The track’s release comes with a one-take music video directed by James Mackel, the visionary behind Doechii’s “DENIAL IS A RIVER” and “Anxiety.” The video enhances the emotional gravity of “Alchemy,” serving as a powerful visual journey alongside the song.
“Alchemy” joins an already acclaimed body of work from Cam, whose debut album Untamed featured the 3x platinum single “Burning House,” earning her a Grammy nomination and securing her place as a leading voice in contemporary country-pop.
In addition to her solo career, Cam played a major creative role on Beyoncé’s genre-defying COWBOY CARTER album, contributing as a songwriter and vocalist—an effort that earned her a Grammy for Album Of The Year. She also co-wrote and featured on 070 Shake’s “Never Let Us Fade,” from the album PETRICHOR.
