“Shy” blends real confessions and vibrant house energy from Arielle Free and Might Delete Later.

Glasgow-born DJ and BBC broadcaster Arielle Free returns to Defected Records with her newest release, “Shy,” created in collaboration with experimental artist Might Delete Later. Following the success of her 2023 track “Feels So Good,” which gained support from BBC mainstays Danny Howard and Jeremiah Asiamah, this new release signals a fresh sonic pivot for the tastemaker.

“Shy” brings together Arielle’s house-driven sound with Might Delete Later’s distinct storytelling approach—where real voicemails become the emotional core of the music. The lyrics are drawn from a raw, anonymous confession of insecurity and self-acceptance, accessed through Might Delete Later’s open phone line project (+31658868630).

Arielle’s recent sets at Defected Croatia, Malta, and Ushuaïa Ibiza have solidified her as a fixture on the global stage, and “Shy” builds on that momentum with live instrumentation and an uplifting topline that speaks directly to the heart and the dancefloor.

To celebrate the release, the duo will hit the streets of London, asking strangers to share their own stories of vulnerability and growth—a fitting tribute to a track rooted in real human connection.

“Shy” by Arielle Free & Might Delete Later is out March 21, 2025, on Defected Records.
