Aqyila releases “Soar,” the final track on “Falling Into Place”, closing out her debut era in style.
Hot off her second JUNO Award win and the success of her critically acclaimed debut album Falling Into Place, Canadian R&B standout Aqyila returns with “Soar”—the final track and emotional conclusion to her debut project.
Featuring layered vocals, introspective songwriting, and an infectious melody, “Soar” ties together the confident, soulful storytelling that defines Falling Into Place. Co-written by Aqyila and Maya J’an B (“Bloom”) and produced by Charlie Coffeen (The Weeknd, Rae Sremmurd), the song marks the last chapter of a stellar debut era. “‘Soar’ puts the final touch on this body of work,” says Aqyila. “And this felt like the perfect gift to fans, and perfect way to present this total project.”
Critics agree: Falling Into Place is “a formidable introduction – one that presents a self-assured star with near-limitless potential” (Billboard). BET calls the project proof that Aqyila is “[cementing] herself among the genre’s greats,” while Vibe hails her as an “international phenom we can’t get enough of.”
In the last year alone, Aqyila has earned two JUNO Awards, achieved viral success with “Bloom,” collaborated with Nike and Tribal Carnival, and toured with Pink Sweat$. She also made her mark at the JUNO Awards broadcast and performed at the iconic Jazz Café in London for Mahalia’s “Mahalia Presents” series.
With the release of “Soar,” her debut vinyl arriving in May, and summer festival appearances ahead, Aqyila’s star continues to rise.
