Rising artist Ananya shares “Falling,” a compelling new single that captures the emotional weight of vulnerability within a polished pop framework. The track arrives as a continuation of her introspective and evolving sound, building on the momentum of her previous work.
Blending bright production and a groove-driven rhythm, “Falling” reflects a personal experience — where emotion collides with restraint and timing gets in the way. “It’s about timing, restraint, and the quiet ache that comes with unspoken feelings,” says Ananya. “It’s for anyone who’s ever felt too much and said too little. I hope it feels like dancing through your own emotional chaos.”
The song first surfaced during a Glamour Magazine South Africa livestream during the pandemic, a moment Ananya didn’t anticipate would resonate so widely. “I had no idea how many people would connect with it,” she says. “The biggest challenge was keeping that rawness in the final version.” 
Ananya, who grew up in Zimbabwe and is now based in London, brings a unique cultural and emotional lens to her music. Known for blending styles and embracing emotional transparency, her sound continues to evolve — and “Falling” is a shining example of that growth.
Her 2023 debut EP i woke up one night surpassed 1 million streams, with key tracks like “i feel so new” and “gone (forever)” laying the foundation for her rising profile in the alt-pop scene.
