Above & Beyond release Tranquility Base Vol. 2, featuring five new trance tracks, now streaming on Anjunabeats
Above & Beyond have released their highly anticipated Tranquility Base Vol. 2 EP, a collection of five instrumental tracks designed to dominate the dancefloor. Following a packed year of worldwide shows in Brazil, Canada, the UK, and the US, the trio—Jono, Paavo, and Tony—return with a second installment in their EP series, available now on Anjunabeats.
The series is named after Above & Beyond’s iconic Tranquility Base alias, which delivered genre-defining trance tracks like “Surrender” and “Razorfish.” The success of Tranquility Base Vol. 1 set a high bar, with singles “Angry JP8” and “500” both topping the Beatport Trance chart. Volume 2 follows suit with five powerful productions, including standout tracks like “React,” released on November 1, and “Another Breakdown,” a euphoric trance anthem, released on November 20.
Debuted at key Above & Beyond events such as Group Therapy 600 in Mexico City, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and Dreamstate SoCal, the EP showcases the trio’s ability to innovate while staying true to their roots. Tracks like “Hackney Siren” combine trance, acid, and breakbeat with nostalgic piano chords, while “From Grey To Light” explores layered acid basslines and intricate melodies. Closing out the collection is “Chasing Highs,” a classic trance offering that channels the energy of early 2000s club anthems.
