With their new album ‘Dressed in Flesh,’ Finnish band Serpico takes a hard stance in favor of raw, analog rock music. Rejecting today’s polished production trends, they’ve opted to record the entire project live to magnetic tape under the guidance of respected producer Anssi Kippo.
The album, tracked at Astia Studio, channels a rare combination of groove, danger, and soul — elements many feel are fading from today’s rock landscape. Kippo, who’s worked with Children of Bodom and Ensiferum, highlights the band’s standout presence:
“I’ve been a professional music producer for 30 years and have both produced and engineered several gold and platinum-selling albums. Serpico stands out from the masses not only with great songwriting, but especially as they are bringing the genuine feel of danger back to rock music. With the support of Golden Robot Records, they have the opportunity to show their potential to the world.” — Anssi Kippo
Serpico’s refusal to compromise has earned them widespread recognition from global rock media, with notable features in SPIN Magazine, Metal Hammer, and Rock Hard. Their earlier single “Rock ’N’ Roll Is Not Dead” even grabbed SPIN’s attention, aligning with the band’s firm message of genre revival.
The group’s dedication is evident not just in the studio but also on stage. In 2023, they performed at The Garage in London as part of Geoff Tate’s 35th anniversary show — a testament to their growing impact in the international rock scene.
With ‘Dressed in Flesh,’ Serpico reasserts rock’s rebellious spirit, reminding listeners that imperfection, emotion, and raw energy still matter.
