“We Don’t Get Along” and “Crumbs of a Modern Tragedy” highlight VICTORIA’s raw lyrical voice.
Alt-pop standout VICTORIA returns with her most introspective release to date — the hauntingly delicate “We Don’t Get Along” and the poetic monologue “Crumbs of a Modern Tragedy.” Together, these tracks dive into emotional stagnation, toxic cycles, and the loneliness buried beneath digital perfection.
In “We Don’t Get Along,” VICTORIA portrays a relationship characterized by absence and repetition. Her lyrics “You got my number, but you never call” resonate with the emotional neglect that many endure, while the song’s minimalist arrangement allows the weight of her words to land.
Complementing the track is “Crumbs of a Modern Tragedy,” a spoken-word piece that dissects the pressure of curated online life. With evocative imagery and subdued narration, VICTORIA tackles themes of comparison, identity loss, and the exhausting act of maintaining appearances.
On the inspiration behind the dual release, she explains: “The story behind this project was born from the feeling that I was losing myself in the noise and the crowd — one of those thoughts that aren’t spoken out loud, but echo inside you louder and louder, until you finally let them out.”
VICTORIA adds: “This isn’t a story where I complain or place myself in the role of a victim. It’s a raw narrative, with a hint of irony, about the world we live in. About the pressure to be perfect and constantly boxed in. About feeling like you’re on stage, but no one’s really seeing you.”
This release reaffirms VICTORIA’s gift for storytelling — finding strength in fragility and crafting space for emotional clarity in a noisy world.
