EthanUno’s “ESPEJO” is a bilingual alt-pop track packed with humor, heartbreak, and neon energy.
Rising genre-blender EthanUno continues his creative streak with “ESPEJO,” a genre-spanning single that brings together alt-pop, indie electronics, and smooth R&B influences. Released via Friends Keep Secrets / Interscope, this new track reflects EthanUno’s playful tone and artistic control.
“ESPEJO” is entirely self-made—written, produced, and performed by the artist himself. It rides on a bubbly instrumental filled with glimmering keys and rich textures, while its lyrical core focuses on betrayal, framed through cheeky fairytale allusions.
The Spanish-English lyrics build a whimsical warning: “Baby, si me mientes, seré tu espejo.” He later cuts to the chase with, “Mirror mirror on the wall, you the baddest of them all / Your body hot, your heart is cold, I think it’s time we called it off.”
EthanUno breaks down the tongue-in-cheek creation process, explaining, “With ‘ESPEJO’ I was just tryna write the dumbest song I could. Like, dumb enough to make me laugh. It honestly could have been even dumber, but I ain’t even mad. There are more songs to be written!”
“ESPEJO” comes on the heels of “EL CAPARAZÓN” from May and “MALA MÍA” from April—both part of an impressive rollout that builds on the success of his necesidad EP.
In interviews, EthanUno has emphasized the importance of immediacy in his music: “I’m huge on capturing the entire feeling of the song and its release while it still feels fresh; it’s like serving food while it’s still hot.”
From his visuals to production, EthanUno continues crafting a universe where emotional honesty and humor coexist—and “ESPEJO” adds another colorful chapter to that story.
