Gold Fang drops his introspective new track “Facelift,” fusing dancehall roots and sharp storytelling with 1st Klase.
Rising Afro-Caribbean voice Gold Fang delivers a dynamic start to 2025 with the release of “Facelift”, his latest single featuring 1st Klase—the multi-platinum Billboard producer and founder of 1st Klase Records. The track sees the Sydney-based, Trinidadian-born artist return to his roots, blending self-reflection with unmistakable island energy.
Co-written with J.Ar.J in London during a Music Australia-funded trip, “Facelift” unpacks themes of judgment, perseverance, and the uphill climb faced in the music industry. Gold Fang explains: “After not releasing music for a good minute I wanted to go back to what make ME feel good while addressing issues…Facelift is taking what we deserve and if you nah Wah give it then…..Wah d name? exactly.”
Set to deep, rhythmic production by 1st Klase (Sean Paul, David Guetta), the track nods to their shared Caribbean heritage while challenging genre expectations. Shot in Trinidad by Rael Luvi of R93 Films, the visual adds rich cultural context to the record—backed by Music Australia’s export funding program.
Since SMOOVE KILLA, Gold Fang’s ascent has been marked by praise from triple j, NME, Acclaim, and standout live performances with Lil Nas X, J Balvin, and Fire Boy DML. With “Facelift,” he takes the next step forward—raw, confident, and unfiltered.
