Sebastian Schub releases “Be Still” ahead of debut EP “Sing Like Madonna”, out June 6 via Island EMI/Capitol.

German-born, London-based artist Sebastian Schub releases his stunning new single “Be Still,” the latest track from his upcoming debut EP Sing Like Madonna, arriving June 6 via Island EMI / Capitol Records.

A tender and introspective moment, “Be Still” showcases the power and range of Schub’s signature baritone vocal, offering an emotional preview of what’s to come on his first full-length body of work.

Following a sold-out UK tour, Schub now sets his sights on the US, with live dates in New York and Los Angeles this June, before returning to London’s BST Hyde Park to support Noah Kahan this summer.

Schub’s road to this moment is as rich as his voice. A former opera singer and street busker, he built his following the old-fashioned way—through pub gigs, open mics, and thousands of hours performing on the streets of London. His viral breakout came only after years of hard-earned momentum.

He developed his debut EP alongside producers Steve Fitzmaurice, Rob Kirwan, and Dann Hume, the latter of whom became a key creative partner. “He’ll plug the guitar in and make it sound exactly the way I would want it to sound,” says Schub of Hume.

Inspired by the honesty of Glen Hansard, Schub’s songwriting reflects his own journey with language and expression. He didn’t speak English until 15, but years of study—including four readings of Jane Eyre—helped him find his lyrical voice.

With Sing Like Madonna set to release June 6, “Be Still” offers a moving preview from one of 2025’s most intriguing breakout voices.
