Kassidy shares “Useless,” a heartfelt single about feeling let down by friends and partners. Out now via Universal Music Canada.
Rising pop-soul artist Kassidy returns with his latest single, “Useless,” out now via Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. Introspective and emotionally direct, “Useless” captures the ache of one-sided relationships—whether platonic or romantic.
The song was born from a personal place, reflecting on friendships that began to drift without reason or explanation.
“‘Useless’ was inspired by friends who don’t reach out anymore or won’t make the time or effort the way they used to. It’s about that feeling of always being the one to reach out,” Kassidy explains.
“Somewhere along the way in the writing process, I realized that this concept could also be fitting for a romantic relationship where one of the partners is feeling let down or used. I’m so excited for you to finally hear this song.”

The official music video, which stars Kassidy on one side of a strained relationship, is set to premiere May 30. Alongside the visual, a live performance video will also debut on Kassidy’s social channels. Featuring JaRon Marshall of Black Pumas on keys, the stripped-back session highlights Kassidy’s rich vocals and the emotional undercurrent of the track.
With more music, shows, and collaborations on the horizon, 2025 is shaping up to be a breakthrough year for Kassidy as he continues to carve a path in the global pop-soul landscape.
