Emerging singer-songwriter Braden Bales unveils his latest single “YOU LIED,” out now via Capitol Records. The track cuts deep into themes of betrayal, loss, and fractured trust, serving as a preview of his forthcoming EP 5 STAGES OF GRIEF, expected this summer.
Built on emotional honesty and haunting melodies, “YOU LIED” paints a vivid picture of heartbreak. Bales captures the difficult space between nostalgia and pain, processing the emotional chaos left behind after a relationship falls apart. “YOU LIED” dives into grief, depression, and personal rediscovery, all central themes of his next project.
“I wrote YOU LIED when I heard my ex’s music that painted our relationship in a bad light,” Bales reveals. “We had a really bittersweet ending and it broke me to hear her talk negatively about everything we had and what being with me was like. ‘YOU LIED’ represents the depression stage of grief in my breakup and it’s written about the most painful part of this process.” 
The single follows Bales’ successful headlining tour earlier this year. He’s now supporting fellow artist Livingston on the North American leg of The Story Continues tour, with stops in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Nashville, and more.
