Empara Mi continues her sonic evolution with “Masochist,” the second chapter in her “Monsters & Masochists” story.

Empara Mi returns with “Masochist,” the explosive second chapter in her conceptual new album Monsters & Masochists, delivering a powerful blend of cinematic electronica and emotionally charged storytelling. The track follows “I Can’t,” which introduced the album’s narrative with themes of quiet mourning. In contrast, “Masochist” erupts with raw force and anger, signaling a dramatic new stage in this evolving emotional odyssey.

Built on haunting melodies and hypnotic synths, “Masochist” channels obsession, pain, and self-destruction in a way that is as theatrical as it is immersive. “I always find writing music a very immersive experience,” Empara Mi shares. “This song in particular I sort of went full ‘cinema’ on… My dream would be to actually do the song for Bond but for now this can be my audition.”

Visually, the track is just as potent. Known for merging sound and movement into complete sensory experiences, Empara Mi elevates her storytelling once again—this time wielding a sword and embracing the symbolism of warriorhood. The music video builds upon the visual intensity of her previous release “I Can’t,” which amassed over 800k views in two weeks.

A multidisciplinary artist in every sense, Empara Mi uses every facet of her craft—sound, visuals, choreography, and narrative—to guide her audience through each chapter of Monsters & Masochists. As the story unfolds, she continues to cement her place as one of music’s most innovative and fearless voices.
