Elton John and Brandi Carlile continue to inspire with the release of the music video for their latest single, “Swing For The Fences.” The track, a euphoric yet defiant anthem, is the latest offering from their forthcoming collaborative album, Who Believes In Angels?, arriving April 4 via Interscope Records.
Directed by the award-winning Xavier Dolan, with choreography by Damien Jalet (Emilia Pérez, Anima, Suspiria), the video is a stunning portrayal of self-expression and liberation. Starring dancers William Darby and Abdalla Amour, it follows a young man dancing alone in his home, surrendering to the energy of the song. His movements become more unrestrained, reflecting the joy and freedom music brings. Eventually, he is joined by a lover, and their connection culminates in an intimate embrace.
Dolan shares his perspective on the visual’s significance: “Music and dance have always been central to queer culture. It’s an ultimate act of self-expression, of owning one’s identity. I’m grateful to Brandi and Elton for giving me the opportunity to tell a story about power, pride, and the resilience of young queer people—especially in a time when that power is being challenged.” 
Jalet adds: “We wanted to preserve the spontaneous joy of movement, letting William and Abdalla bring raw emotion to every step. This wasn’t about rigid choreography but about feeling.”
