Aidan Bissett returns with “are we in love yet?” ahead of his debut album. The track blends playful energy with new wave influences.

Breakout singer-songwriter Aidan Bissett is ushering in a new era of music with his latest single, “are we in love yet?” Out now via Capitol Records, the track offers a supercharged introduction to what’s ahead, blending new wave-inflected production with Bissett’s signature lyricism.

The song captures the emotional push and pull of modern relationships, exploring the uncertainty that comes with searching for connection. “‘are we in love yet?’ was a question I found myself asking anytime I had the opportunity to grow close to somebody — even if it was just a friend,” Bissett explains. “Writing this song was the first step in realizing how addicted I was to finding connection in my life.”

Produced by Andrew Wells (The Vaccines, Biig Piig) and mixed by Tony Hoffer (Albert Hammond Jr., Phoenix), “are we in love yet?” bursts with jagged guitars, stuttering drums, and infectious synths, all building toward a massive hook: “If I’m honest, the hardest thing to do is pretend that I’m modest.”

With over 250 million global streams and a billion TikTok video views using his music, Bissett continues to rise as one of pop’s most exciting new voices. Named a candidate for “Pop’s Next Big Thing” by Rolling Stone, he has toured with Valley, Lauv, and Claire Rosinkranz while also selling out his own headlining shows.

With his debut album on the way, “are we in love yet?” marks the thrilling start of a new chapter for Bissett.
