Mae Martin debuts their first album, I’m A TV, a nostalgic indie rock journey arriving February 27 via Universal Music Canada.

Award-winning comedian, actor, and singer-songwriter Mae Martin steps into a new creative realm with the announcement of their debut album, I’m A TV, set for release on February 27, 2025. The album, marking their musical debut with Universal Music Canada (UMC) and Republic Records in the US, features two tracks available now: “Good Dream” and “Stowaway.”

Produced by Jason Couse and Wes Marskell of The Darcys, I’m A TV offers a warm indie rock sound steeped in hazy, millennial nostalgia. Written entirely by Mae, the album explores vivid emotions and formative experiences, capturing the essence of a Toronto teen reflecting on high school basements and coming-of-age moments.

“I’ve been writing songs since I was a teenager, with no intention of ever sharing them,” Mae explains. “It took moving to LA and having time alone to reconnect with that Toronto teen. Writing this album allowed me to express myself without the pressure to find a punchline. I leaned into warmth and simplicity, and I hope this album feels like an authentic extension of everything I write and do.”

UMC Chairman & CEO Jeffrey Remedios added, “Mae is an incredibly talented, multi-disciplinary artist who connects deeply with fans. This album is an inspiring and intimate addition to their artistry, and we’re thrilled to bring it to the world.”

Mae’s transition into music is a natural progression, extending their unique voice into a new medium. I’m A TV promises a heartfelt exploration of identity, nostalgia, and creative authenticity.
